Target two different life-stages of the clothes moth at the same time (adults and egg). Two pheromone traps to attract and catch clothes moth and one card of microscopic hunting insects (parasitic wasps called Trichogramma evanescens) which kill moth eggs. Clothes moth larvae feed on natural materials including cotton, silk, wool and fur with the holes they create in clothes and fabric ruining an item. Targeting multiple life-stages increases the chances of breaking the pest cycle.

When is best to use?

Clothes moth typically breed May to October, Clothes Moth Killer should be used whenever temperatures are 15-35°C and activity is suspected or adult moths are caught in traps. Traps can be used year-round.

FAQ

about the product

Clothes moth (Tineola bisselliella and Tinea pellionella) lay eggs on your clothes and carpets. The clothes moth larvae hatch and feed on the fibres, creating holes and ruining them. There are two types of clothes moth, the webbing clothes moth and the case-bearing clothes moth.

Clothes moth can be identified by:

- Moth damage on clothes, carpets and furnishings in the form of holes
- Pale, silvery-brown moths in your wardrobe/home

Often an infestation isn’t noticed until tiny holes appear in your clothes.

Yes, moths eat all natural fibres such as wool, silk, leather and cotton. They’ve even been known to eat synthetic materials.

Clothes moth killer: this is a card full of tiny parasitic ‘wasps’ (Trichogramma evanescens) that hunt down the clothes moth eggs and larvae and kill them. It is used by National Trust, along with pheromone traps, to protect their tapestries and furnishings.

Clothes moth trap: The pheromone uses the scent of female clothes moths, attracting the male plum moths. The black and white pattern also attracts the moths. They get stuck on the sticky surface and die.

Together, they attack all life stages of the pest (eggs, larvae and adult moth), giving you a much higher chance of elimination. And all without chemicals.

Our traps and killer are versatile and can be hung or placed on a surface, such as a clothes drawer or wardrobe, or on carpets.

1. Remove the paper sheet covering the glue and separate the two traps by tearing along the perforated join
2. Fold the trap and insert the flap into the slot to create a triangular structure
3. To save having to remember, mark the outside of the card with the date the card is setup
4. If using in a wardrobe, hang the trap from either a clothes hanger or the clothes rail. If using in a drawer or on a shelf, place the trap so it can be clearly seen

Don’t use near other moth-repelling scented products such as cedarwood or lavender, as this will interfere with the pheromone scent.

We also recommend washing (and where appropriate ironing) of clothes, cleaning dust and hair from clothes storage areas.

How does clothes moth kit work?

The pheromone trap emits the female clothes moth pheromone to attract and trap the male. The clothes moth killer card releases little helpers that hunt down the clothes moth eggs and destroy them. Together, they target both life stages of clothes moth giving a high target of eradication. Without chemicals!
