• Improve the structure of soil and compost
• Increase water holding capacity and air movement within the soil profile
• Pre-charged with Rootiliser beneficial bacteria for improved plant root growth
The problem:
Soil is a complex mix of many components. Within this matrix changes in structure, moisture, airflow and nutrition all have an impact on the biology and health of the soil. It is the health of the soil which drives the health of the plants living within it.
The product:
The structure of the soil, and the biology which lives within it, are key to the health of soil. Biochar is a natural soil improvement aid opening up soil structure to allow greater airflow and moisture retention.
Biochar holds onto nutrients and moisture making it available for plants to use
A more open soil structure also allows micro-organisms such as beneficial bacteria and fungi to thrive. Pre-charged with Rootiliser beneficial bacteria, these natural and mighty bacteria compliment your soils biology.
Rootiliser beneficial bacteria (Bacillus atropheus) are a naturally occurring bacteria which live in the soil. As they grow in the soil they convert nutrients locked up in forms plants can not access into forms the plants can feed on. Because of this, soils charged with Rootiliser help plant roots feed and grow creating healthier, happier plants.
How to use:
The greatest benefits from both biochar and Rootiliser are when they are around the roots of plants. Best results are when the product is incorporated into the soil or compost. This can be done when potting up, transplanting out, sowing or general flower bed maintenance.
- On open ground, Biochar + Rootiliser should be applied at a rate of 1 kg per square meter.
- For compost in pots, Biochar + Rootiliser should be mixed into the compost at a ratio of 1:9 (i.e. 1 litre of product per 9 litres of compost).
- For sowing seeds in-furrow, add product to the bottom of the furrow at 50 ml per linear meter (i.e. 1 litre of product treats 20 linear meters of seed furrow).
