It offers a new, safe way for dog and cat owners to treat fleas without pesticides or chemicals.

You’re probably thinking essential oils, but Insectosec® pet care is actually biological. Made from algae skeletons, it absorbs the oil from the flea’s exoskeleton, drying it out.

Traditional flea treatments like Frontline use the chemical pesticide Fipronil, which has already been banned in the EU for agriculture, and has recently been found to be poisoning English rivers.

There’s also been many anectodal reports of Fipronil not working like it used to. One possibility is fleas are becoming resistant to Fipronil, a problem all pesticides have eventually.

Or it could be because only 5% of fleas actually live on your pets. Insectosec ® solves this problem by targeting your pets sleeping area and carpets, where 95% of the fleas live.

“Insectosec® is the only product of its kind to be approved for use in the UK, which assures pet owners of its high-quality, effectiveness and safety,” says Andrew Brown, Managing Director of Andermatt. “We hope it can offer a viable alternative for those who don’t want to use pesticides on their precious pets, or who are simply finding Frontline doesn’t work well enough.”
